Lecturer and Tutoring Coordinator for the Chinese Flagship Program (Dahlonega, GA)
The University of North Georgia is seeking a full-time Lecturer and Tutoring Coordinator for the Chinese Flagship Program. This role offers a flexible starting date, with the expectation that the selected finalist will commence duties no later than August 1, 2024.
•Responsibilities include teaching two to four courses per year offered by the Department of Modern Languages.
•Additionally, the position will oversee the development and management of the Chinese Flagship tutoring program, which involves recruiting, training, and supervising tutors, conducting individual and group tutoring sessions, and creating tutoring plans and materials.
•Organizing co-curricular and extracurricular activities on and off-campus to enrich the Flagship students¿ language and cultural learning experience is also a key responsibility.
•The position will also provide limited administrative support in areas including program articulation, program promotion and recruitment.
•Qualified candidates should hold a master’s degree in Chinese pedagogy, linguistics, or related fields.
•A minimum of two years of experience teaching college-level Chinese courses.
•Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is required, along with familiarity with assessment and ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.
•Training and teaching experience in Chinese pedagogy, in conjunction with previous administrative experience, are desirable.
