The Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville is seeking applications for a full-time lecturer position in Chinese to begin August 1, 2019. This position is a 1-year renewable term, which becomes a 3-year renewable term as Senior Lecturer, and a 5-year renewable term as Distinguished Lecturer. Lecturer comes with full benefits. The teaching load is four courses (or 12 hours) per semester. The lecturer is expected to be able to teach Chinese language at all levels and be actively involved in the development of the Chinese program. Minimum qualifications: M.A. in Chinese pedagogy, linguistics, or related fields; native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English; at least two years of Chinese teaching experience at the post-secondary level in the U.S.; demonstrated excellence in teaching.
