Chinese Teacher (7th – 12th Grade) (Honduras, Central America)

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Chinese Teacher to join our dynamic faculty at Western International School, Campus Sula Valley (Honduras). This position involves teaching Chinese as a third language to students in grades 7 through 12, focusing on developing their proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Mandarin Chinese. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chinese language education, experience in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and a passion for fostering cross-cultural understanding.

Key Responsibilities:
• Create engaging and culturally relevant lessons that promote language acquisition and fluency tailored to students learning Chinese as a third language.
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback to support their language development.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to communicate in Chinese.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Chinese language learning with other disciplines and enhance interdisciplinary connections.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language teaching and pedagogy.

Qualifications:
• Three years minimum of experience teaching Chinese as a foreign language at the secondary level (grades 7-12) preferred.
• Deep understanding of Chinese culture, history, and contemporary issues.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, colleagues, and parents.

5) Monthly salary.
6) The school is responsible for all the legal expenses of permission to be in Honduras.
7) Contract time: 10 months.
8) Schedule Monday-Friday: 6:40 AM to 3:40 PM. Teachers have planning periods throughout the day.
