Chinese Language Lecturer (Nashville, TN)

The Asian Studies Program at Vanderbilt University seeks to make a non-tenure-track, full-time appointment in Chinese language instruction. The rank is Lecturer, to begin with an initial one-year appointment in fall 2020. Renewal is conditional upon performance review. Review of completed application files will begin on February 10, 2020 and will remain open until the position is successfully filled. Further Info about the Asian Studies Program at Vanderbilt: Candidates for the position should have at least an M.A. in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Chinese Pedagogy, Chinese Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Foreign Language Education, and/or related fields. Candidates possessing a Ph.D. or similar terminal degree in their area of study are preferred. Native or near-native fluency in spoken and written Chinese and a strong command of English are required. The ability to teach a proficiency-based curriculum at all levels of Chinese and a familiarity with team-teaching are preferred attributes.
