Chinese Flagship Lead Instructor – Visiting Faculty (Provo, UT)

Required Degree: Ph.D. in Chinese language, linguistics, or related field.

Required degree must be in hand by the start date.

Experience: Teaching experience at the college level, preferably at the advanced level. Teaching experience with computer-aided instruction and online resources. Will take a leadership role in working with advanced directed studies courses for Chinese Flagship students, independent study courses, and Chinese for special purposes.

Duties/Expectations: This position has a key role in the Chinese Flagship Program. The incumbent will teach advanced language courses in the Chinese Flagship Program and will be involved in departmental development activities. Will assist in training new Flagship faculty. Will hire, supervise and train other Flagship graduate assistants, tutors and student instructors. Will be involved in interviewing and selecting students for program participation. Will provide feedback about student progress and language proficiency of each participant.
