ACTFL Annual Convention & World Languages Expo

CLTA is an organizational member of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and is also a partner for the Annual Convention of ACTFL, which hosts the largest gathering of foreign language educators in the U.S. each year. These annual conventions are held in November, and generally take place on the Friday and weekend before Thanksgiving (plus a day of pre-convention workshops). Information on registration, housing, online convention program, etc., may be obtained from the ACTFL Home Page (under “Convention and Expo”). Note that all current, paid-up members of ACTFL — or any of the ACTFL cooperating organizations, including CLTA — may pay their ACTFL registration at the member’s rate. If you are not a current member, you will need to register at the non-member’s rate. However, you may join CLTA prior to the Convention and pay the member’s rate. To join CLTA, go to the CLTA Membership Information web page. Please note that ACTFL has a schedule (once or twice a month in March – September and once a week in October and November before the Convention) to updated its membership database, so it can take 7-30 days for ACTFL to have your name loaded in the registration system. ACTFL has different registration deadline rates (Early Bird, Advance, Onsite), so do plan to join CLTA and register early!
