Visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese Culture and Language (Clinton, NY)

The Chinese Program in the East Asian Languages and Literatures Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one-year position in Chinese Culture/Language at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor, effective July 1, 2018. Responsibilities include teaching cultural aspects of the Chinese-speaking world in the successful candidate’s specialization (e.g., cinema/media, literature), as well as advanced-level language courses. The teaching load is five courses. We seek applicants with Ph.D. in hand or near completion, fluency in Chinese and English, and a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates within an interdisciplinary context. Training and actual experience in Chinese language teaching at college level is strongly preferred. Consideration of applications will begin on February 15 and continue until the position is filled.
