CLTA Meeting Program Posted: The online (pdf) version of CLTA sessions at the 2009 annual meeting is now online. More information about the annual meeting can be found on the meeting page.

February 2009

CLTA Job Announcements: The CLTA Job Announcement page is now running on WordPress. Users can register on the site to post and edit their announcements. All announcements are monitored before being published on the site. In addition, job seekers can now subscribe to the Job Announcement RSS feed with their preferred reader (e.g. Google Reader).

DECEMBER 2008

2009 CLTA Annual Meeting:   The 2009 CLTA Annual Meeting will be held on 20-22 November 2009, in San Deigo, California. The Call for Papers -- with instructions for abstract submission in both English and Chinese -- is now posted on the CLTA Annual Meeting web page. Deadline for Abstract Submission is 9 January 2009.

DECEMBER 2007

2008 CLTA Annual Meeting:   The 2008 CLTA Annual Meeting will be held on 21-23 November 2008, in Orlando, Florida. The Call for Papers -- with instructions for abstract submission in both English and Chinese -- is now posted on the CLTA Annual Meeting web page. Deadline for Abstract Submission is 11 January 2008.

NOVEMBER 2007

Statistics on Chinese Language Enrollment:   New MLA Survey on Foreign Language Study at U.S. Colleges and Universities. The Modern Language Association (MLA) has a just-released report of foreign language study in institutions of higher education. The report goes through 2006 enrollments. As MLA does a new report every four years, the previous report was issued in 2003 for enrollments through 2002.

AUGUST 2007

1 August 2007:   With the new website fully functional at the end of July, CLTA-US.ORG is now the official website of the Chinese Language Teachers Association.

JULY 2007

Transition from CLTA .OSU.EDU to CLTA -US.ORG:   July 2007 and August 2007 is the period for the migration of the CLTA website from The Ohio State University's host server to the Dreamhost server, together with a change in domain name, from clta.osu.edu to clta-us.org. During this transition period -- beginning with the uploading of the main pages to clta-us.org on 7 July 2007; that is, 07.07.07, for an auspicious beginning -- web pages can be accessed at both websites. However, for now, the online search of the journal index can only be accessed at the clta.osu.edu website. Google Search the CLTA-US.ORG website using a customized Google search engine. The search engine has been added to the main page as of 9 July 2007, and will be fully operational once Google has indexed the pages at this website. Advanced search functions are not yet available from Google's custom search. Hence, for conducting advanced searches of this website, please go to CLTA's Advanced Site Search page. Note that currently only the most recent three years of the CLTA Newsletter are on this web server. When the archive of the Newsletter issues (since December 1998) are all housed here, they will be searchable at this site.
