The Annual Meeting of CLTA is held in conjunction with the Annual Convention of the
American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL),
which hosts the largest gathering of foreign language educators in the U.S. each year.
These annual meetings are held in November, and generally take place on the Friday and weekend before
Thanksgiving (plus a day of pre-convention workshops).
Information on registration, housing, online convention program, etc.,
may be obtained from the ACTFL Home Page (under "Convention and Expo").
Note that all current, paid-up members of ACTFL -- or any of the ACTFL cooperating organizations,
including CLTA -- may pay their ACTFL registration at the member's rate.
If you are not a current member, you will need to register at the non-member's rate.
However, you may join CLTA (or any of the other cooperating organizations) prior to the
Convention and pay the member's rate.
To join CLTA, go to the CLTA Membership Information web page.
Please note that ACTFL has different registration deadline rates (Early Bird, Advance, Onsite), so do plan to register early!

History Highlights:
The first CLTA annual conferences were held in December, in conjunction with the Modern Languages Association (MLA). The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) formed out of MLA in 1967, and officially established a separate November conference in 1969. CLTA chose to collaborate with ACTFL, and has been affiliated with ACTFL since. ACTFL convention sites of the past two decades and upcoming conventions are as follows:
