The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at William & Mary invites applications for an eighteen-month (Spring 2019 and academic year 2019-20, with possibility of subsequent renewal), non-tenure-track lecturer position in Chinese language that will begin January 10, 2019. We seek an individual with expertise in Chinese language and language pedagogy. The successful applicant will be expected to be an effective teacher and will have a 3-3 teaching load.
Required: A Master’s degree is required. Applicants must have an M.A. in Chinese language pedagogy, literature, linguistics, or related fields. Applicants must have the ability to teach the Chinese language at all levels, have familiarity with classroom technology and current foreign language pedagogy, and possess native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English.
Preferred: A Ph.D. or ABD is preferred at the time appointment begins (January 10, 2019). Experience teaching Chinese at the college level is highly desirable.
