The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations of the University of Chicago is accepting applications for a one-year (renewable) Lecturer appointment in modern Chinese language to start in calendar year 2017, with a preferred start date of July 1, 2017.
Responsibilities include teaching in a comprehensive program in Chinese-language studies at both beginning and advanced levels of the language. Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in Chinese and previous language teaching experience at the college level. An M.A. degree or equivalent is required. A Ph.D. in a related field is desirable, but not mandatory.
