The Chinese Division of the Department of Classical and Oriental Studies of Hunter College, City University of New York, invites applications for a Certificate of Continuous Employment- track lecturer position in Chinese language and pedagogy to perform teaching and related faculty functions.

Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Minimum requirements are a doctoral degree in second language acquisition, linguistics, applied linguistics, foreign language education, or instructional technology and at least three years experience of teaching Chinese on the college level. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English. Evidence of commitment to and achievement in dynamic and effective language teaching and pedagogy as well as program coordination is essential; expertise in the areas of computer-assisted instruction and instructional technology is a plus.

Commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience within the range for this title.
