Associate Professor and Director, School in China-Kunming
Based in Kunming, the Associate Professor and Director administers, implements, and develops Middlebury’s academic program in China.
The Associate Professor and Director develops and manages key relationships in a cooperative, strategic manner; hires and trains new teachers; in conjunction with the Dean of International Programs, makes and implements short and long-range financial, staff and programmatic plans; oversees student advising/counseling; and helps develop and oversee internship opportunities.
Qualified candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and be fluent in Chinese and English. In-country living and travel experience in regards to China is required. Familiarity with U.S.-managed study abroad programs and the Chinese university system, excellent people skills, crisis management skills, and demonstrated teaching excellence.
