The East Asian Languages and Literatures Department at Hamilton College seeks applicants for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Chinese, to begin July 1, 2017. The candidate for the position must have a Ph.D. in Chinese Language Pedagogy, Linguistics, or Second Language Acquisition (a closely related field is preferred). Experience in computer-assisted language teaching or on-line teaching is a plus. A candidate with ABD will be considered but should have plans to complete the degree by July 1, 2017. Experience in teaching college-level Chinese is essential. The successful candidate will teach introductory to upper-level courses, develop basic language materials, and supervise language instruction in our nationally recognized Chinese program. The teaching load for this position is four courses during the first year and five courses thereafter.
